Summer is heating up, and so is the Energy Independent Vermont campaign.
VPIRG’s canvassers are out in that heat bringing the campaign to Vermonters’ doorsteps, and gathering petitions addressed to our candidates for state office. But for many of you, the conversation doesn’t end once the canvasser leaves and the door closes. You keep the door open and walk through it, ready to get your hands dirty so our economy and planet doesn’t have to be. And since Vermont’s elections in August are just around the corner, we need to act quickly to ensure that when our legislators return to Montpelier they are ready to take bold action on climate.
I’d like to invite you to walk through the door of the Ilsley Library in Middlebury on Wednesday, June 29th from 4PM to 7PM for an Energy Independent Vermont Activist Training (Three Hours is long, but you can pop in at any time!). This is a chance to connect with your fellow EIV supporters, learn more about the campaign, share organizing tactics and receive expert training on how to communicate with people in your community to build the groundswell of support we'll need to get this done.
Thank you so much - I hope to see you there!
