The Not Quite Independence Day parade and Green Mountain BBQ & Music Festival take place this weekend -- June 25th and 26th!! The parade takes place in downtown Waterbury on Saturday, starting at 11am, and then activities move out to Farr's Field, 2 miles west of Waterbury on Rt. 2, where the new Flea Market is. The BBQ & Music Festival runs noon-9pm on Saturday, and 11am-5pm on Sunday. The Fireworks display will launch around 9pm on Saturday. Parking is free before 6 pm Saturday and all day Sunday -- drive in after 6 pm on Saturday, and parking is only $5 per car.
Online ticketing closes at midnight this Thursday, June 24th, so get your tickets online and save 10% off the Gate prices, which are $12 for adults, $5 for kids, and $25 for 2 adults and 2+ kids; two-day passes are also available. Paid Tickets include:
- Entrance to the grounds
- NEW!! People's Choice Sauce Showdown sampling on Saturday afternoon; be among the first 100 attendees and you may be chosen at random to also judge the sauces in a blind taste test
- NEW!! Brisket samples (while they last) on Saturday afternoon, donated by Sadler's Smokehouse of Henderson TX, and prepared on Humphrey's Smokers
- NEW!! MacAuley's People's Choice Pulled Pork samples (while they last) on Saturday night, donated by MacAuley's Food Service and prepared by BBQ teams
- NEW!! Opportunity to purchase award-winning Competition Samples from BBQ teams on Sunday afternoon, prices averaging $1 to $3 per sample
- Diversity of live music performances each day -- something for every musical taste
- THREE TIMES as many food options as last year, including more BBQ vendors and diverse additional tastes including vegetarian and kid-friendly fare
