The Fool's Riddle--an evening of bardic theatre by Jocelyn Woods

October 12, 6:00 pm at Artfull Cup Studio/Sunrise Cafe in Jeffersonville

Description: Model/poet/mystic Jocelyn Woods comes to the stage for the first time in a One-Act play, The Fool's Riddle. Presented in combination with an art exhibit of her erotic modeling (to benefit the Ecstasy of a Cripple project), wine and cheese, the audience will be granted a LIVE, in-person theatrical rendering of Jocelyn's bardic poetry, a sample of what shall be featured in her upcoming short films with Atlanta-based art photographer Thomas Dodd. (http://bit.ly/ecstasyofacripple) The Fool's Riddle is a compendium of edgy bardic riddle, intended to confound the mind until the mind lets go. Steeped in overt and subliminal references to cosmic history, mythology and social issues, it ranges from bawdy in-your-face rhymes to Ophelia-tinted madness, culminating in mystic vision. Born with a severe neuromuscular disease, Jocelyn is unable to stand or walk. Semi-bedridden for a decade, the poet emerges to present her body as a living work of art in the Ecstasy of a Cripple series o f erotic images, geared towards shattering limiting paradigms surrounding disability, sexuality and the human condition. Her premier theatrical performance--and first public appearance since illness robbed her of being a pianist ten years prior--shall be delivered from her wheelchair. Her ongoing projects can be followed at http://www.facebook.com/ResurrectionofPassion
