The 4th of July is a long lasting tradition in Colchester as this is our 47th year of hosting a 4th of July Parade and Fireworks! Residents can begin their day with a 5K Fun Run starting at 8:15 AM at Union Memorial School traveling down to Middle Road and back. Race registration will be at Union Memorial School from 7:30 – 8:00 AM.
After the Fun Run, the 47th Annual 4th of July Parade will take place at 11:00 AM on Main Street. The parade starts at Creek Farm Plaza, and ends at the Burnham Memorial Library. Parade goers are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items/canned goods in support of the Colchester-Milton Rotary & Colchester Lions 4th of July Food Drive to support the Colchester Community Food Shelf. Food drop locations will be at Our Lady of Grace Church Parking Lot, and at the Burnham Memorial Library.
After the Parade, Bayside Beach will have Lifeguards on duty from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Not interested in swimming? Rent a kayak, paddleboard or pedal boat with Bayside Paddle Sports from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Bayside Beach. After a fun day at the Beach, residents can enjoy a nice evening at Bayside Park with musical entertainment from the Hitmen beginning at 6:45 PM, a dazzling display of fireworks, and the chance to jump around in an inflatable bounce house from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Concessions will be available beginning at 6:00 PM.
Fireworks will take place at dusk and will be launched from the Bayside Softball Field. Parking will be available at Colchester High School and Colchester Middle School.
