Connecting Villages

The Town of Jericho has received funding through the Agency of Transportation Bicycle & Pedestrian Program to plan for and identify issues with construction of a sidewalk/bicycle facility in Jericho. The purpose of this scoping study is to determine the feasibility of constructing a multi-use path along Route 15 connecting to the existing sidewalk systems in Jericho Corners and Riverside (from Griswold St. to River Rd.) Given the distance between the two village centers (approximately 2.2 miles), the study will need to identify and prioritize path segments so that the entire project can be constructed in phases over time.

The Town has chosen the engineering firm Dubois & King to complete the study. The first phase in a scoping study is a Local Concerns Meeting, where interested individuals can share their thoughts, opinions and experiences regarding pedestrian connectivity in the study area. This meeting will be held on June 16 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Jericho Town Hall. We encourage anyone who would like to learn more about the project or who would like to comment on it to drop in during that time.
