Just a reminder that the Huntington Conservation Commission is hosting a hike up Little Bald Peak as part of the "Special Places Huntington" series, tomorrow Sunday Oct 6th at 9:30 am. Meet at Jim Converse and Cindy Sprague's house, 480 Salvas Road (directions below). This is a strenuous hike that will take a few hours. We will be hiking on trials, logging roads, sugaring roads and bushwacking. The hike is not recommended for young children, but older adventurous children and well behaved dogs are welcome. Hope to see you tomorrow.
Directions to 480 Salvas Road:
From Huntington Center, go east on Camels Hump Road ( as if you are going to the elementary school/ camels hump hiking trails)
Follow Camels Hump Road for 1.0 mile. Be sure to bear right at fork - DO NOT GO UP TAFT HILL
Take a left on Salvas Road - there will be a group of mail boxes at bottom of hill and a new bridge
Our driveway is 0.5 miles on the right (second driveway on the right on Salvas Road). It is a sharp U-turn onto the driveway.
The driveway forks - Go left to tan-gray/green house.
Park along the edge of the drive, or in the parking area just before the shed on the right, or up by the big barn to the right of the shed.
Look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
