Hi neighbors,
Are you a parent concerned about the state of the world? This film might be for you!
A group of mothers in Eastwoods have been talking about how we can work together to respond to the crises of our times: climate change, racism, economic disparity.
On Tuesday June 14th at 7pm, we'll gather in Alesia's living room and watch the 26-minute film called, Joanna Macy and the Great Turning, and follow with a discussion. Babies and toddlers welcome to stay with a parent. Older children will be encouraged to play outside, unstructured, with neighborhood friends. Childcare pending!
In the film, Joanna shares her understanding of these times we live in, when everything we treasure seems to be at risk. But it is not a film about despair. Instead, it is about the opportunity we have to come alive to our truest power, to "look straight into the face of our time, which is the biggest gift we can give," and to participate in the transition to a healthier and safer world.
Popcorn & tea provided. Bring a snack to share, if you'd like!
This film screening is hosted by Mother Up!, a project of 350VT to build a network of parents taking organized actions to improve the well-being of our children, for today and for their future.
