The Vergennes Junior Fishing Derby will be held Friday June 24th and Saturday June 25th.
The derby is free and open to any kids ages 3-15. Fishing each day will be held from 5am-9pm both days, and it is held at the Vergennes Falls Basin. We will have an awards ceremony on Sunday, June 26th at 1:30PM at the American Legion Post 14 in Vergennes.
You can preregister at Shear Cuts in Vergennes, or by visiting the City of Vergennes website and printing off a form and mailing it in. In order to guarantee a free t-shirt, you must preregister by June 8th.
The following activities will be held throughout the derby:
Friday Night Karaoke Dance Party with DJ Amanda Judith Rock
Saturday Night Community Street Dance with Twist of Fate followed by the official lighting of the Falls. Open to the public - no charge!
Mama Dogs food truck both Friday and Saturday! $
FREE BBQ Lunch, sponsored by the Lions Club, on Saturday for participants.
FREE Boat Ride and Fishing with Captain Obe White aboard the Cloud Nine on Saturday afternoon (weather permitting)
FREE Let's Go Fishing" seminar with lure taping. Let's Go Fishing is a program of the VT Fish and Wildlife.
New this year - expanded boundaries on the Falls Park side of the river.
