Cool Ideas for Beating the Heat this Summer!

Whole House Fans and Cold Climate Heat Pumps

Presented by Jeff Kapsalis of Naturally Cool VT and

Patrick Perry of Vermont Heat Pump LLC

June 20th 6pm at the South Burlington Community Library

Most homes in VT were built without AC because it was often said “It’s Vermont, you don’t need AC here”. Well it’s getting harder to get through VT summers comfortably without AC, but with modern whole house fans you can!

Jeff Kapsalis from Naturally Cool VT will explain how a whole house fan can dramatically cool every room in your home and the attic! All with a simple, quite, low cost, no maintenance, energy efficient appliance that is hidden in your attic. A demonstration trailer will be on site so you can see and experience how these systems work first hand.

Patrick Perry of Vermont Heat Pump will review how cold climate heat pumps also provide air conditioning in the summer with roughly twice the cooling BTU’s for the same electric usage as a typical window unit and they are 15-20 dB quieter than a window AC and always ready to go. He will look at how they work, how they compare to other heat and cooling sources, costs, installation and all the cool details on operation
