#10 The Festival has been a highly anticipated summer event on the Addison County arts calendar for nearly four decades.
#9 The Festival has no paid staff but does have great volunteers ranging in age from 3 to 70.
#8 The Festival has enjoyed terrific support from town (Town of Middlebury) and gown (Middlebury College) since its founding in 1978.
#7 Our program committee has a knack for coming up with just the right mix of talent—17 dynamic acts over 7 days—year after year.
#6 Our noontime “Brown Bag” events introduce the youngest members of our community to music, magic, storytelling, comedy, juggling, marionettes and more.
#5 Audience members tell us that it “feels like vacation but we don’t have to leave the county.”
#4 We are part of a very generous community that donates dollars and in-kind products and services to help cover our annual budget of approximately $42,000.
#3 The Festival makes an effort to engage youth and teens by collaborating with a class at the Hannaford Career Center on T-shirt design and warmly welcoming junior volunteers.
#2 The Festival has good energy!
…and the #1 reason It’s FREE…ensuring that the performing arts are accessible to all.

This year’s Festival dates are July 10-16, 2016. Look for us under the big white tent on the Middlebury Village Green. Info: www.festivalonthegreen.org
