Celebrate the end of the school year with an informal story-sharing event from former students that attended the Cambridge Boro School during the 1950s and 1960s.
If you remember playing marbles, skating on the Foss meadow, square-dancing, using the phone at Babe and Lois Cutler’s house, the Bookmobile, Miss Sweet the cook, teachers Foss, Ellsworth, Greene, Davis etc., walking to Booth’s store at lunch, sanding school desks at recess, author Lois Lenski, Roger St Cyr singing “Runaway” at a fundraiser at the Community Hall or the Teen Center, then you might enjoy this walk down memory lane.
This will not be a complete history of the school, but a snippet of stories near the end of the existence of the school. We are hoping this will be the beginning of many more story-sharing events from people in the community.
Warner Lodge, 49 School Street, Jeffersonville. 7pm.
