United Church and Rotary Serve Dinner To Support Malayaka House, June 11
The United Church of Ludlow has joined with the Ludlow Rotary Club to sponsor a dinner and auction in support of the Malayaka House in Uganda on Saturday, June 11 from 5 to 7 PM at the church.
The dinner will feature an outstanding menu consisting of roast pork, couscous, Ugandan curried cabbage, copper carrots, applesauce, assorted home-made pies, with lemonade and iced tea as beverages. Pictured above are Linda Thomson and Pat Liao as they discussed the dinner preparations.
There will be a silent auction during the event that will feature themed gift baskets and other gifts.
The proceeds from the dinner and auction will benefit Malayaka House, an orphanage located in Entebbe, Uganda. Malayaka House was founded by Robert Fleming in 2006. It provides the most vulnerable orphaned and abandoned Ugandan children with a safe and loving home, education, and vocational training so they may grow into self-reliant citizens whose lives are full of opportunity and promise.
Both the Rotary and United Church have helped provide support to Malayaka House in the past.
The dinner cost is $12 with kids from 12 to 5 at $6 and those under 5 are free. For more information call (802) 228-6275.
