I have just confirmed that Hardwick will have a 2nd annual World Refugee Day event, coming up on Saturday June 18!

Performers will include Winooski-based Hip-Hop group A2VT (Africa to Vermont), and Kabisko Kaba, a multi-faceted performer from Guinea, West Africa, currently based in Massachusetts. A2VT features four young men from Africa (Somalia, Tanzania, Congo, Burundi), and brings their vision of a New American future fused with the traditions of their African past to Vermont and the world. The event will include an early-evening gathering and prayer for refugees around the world, that will take place at Hardwick's river access area in the center of town; a song, drum, and dance procession through town; and a dance party with A2VT that wlll take place at the Hardwick Townhouse.
