Women Helping Battered Women (soon to be renamed!) is holding the 9th Annual Run for Empowerment on Saturday, June 18th at Waterfront Park. The Run for Empowerment is a great way to support vital direct services, honor someone you know whose life has been affected by domestic violence, and raise awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence in our community. Participants can choose between a 5k walk or run, a 10K run, or kids can do the 1K Kids' Fun Run. This is a timed event for the 5k and 10k. We also have a "Quest for the Cup of Empowerment" team challenge with the top fundraising team winning the Cup of Empowerment. For all details and links to register or simply donate go to www.whbw.org

We are still seeking volunteers for the Run for Empowerment!! From muscle-y truck-loaders to cyclists to timers to kids' activity mavens to detail-oriented folks at our registration table, we'll put you to work for a great cause! To sign up as an individual, family, or community volunteer group, reach out to WHBW's Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@whbw.org to get connected and signed up. Just a couple of hours of your time will make a world of difference!!! Please and thank you!
