Opening Day is Saturday June 4th. We will be celebrating our opening for the season with our annual 5 K Walk and a special program in the afternoon.
THE WALK: Registration at 10 AM, walk at 10:30, $20 per person (seniors and kids $10, under 6, of course free), canines welcome. Walk will start at the Museum, go down Dug Road, go South on #103 and then back up to the museum. Refreshments, including water, will be available.
THE SPECIAL PROGRAM: A tribute to the history to the “Finns” of Andover, VT, a program/presentation of the Finnish-American photographer Kosti Ruohomaa by Deanna Bonner-Ganter, author of “Kosti Ruohomaa the Photographer Poet” at 1 PM at the Museum. Ruohomaa spent part of his early childhood in Andover, VT attending the one room Peaseville school for five years. There will be a question and answer period and refreshments including coffee and pullaa. Erik Johansson of Rockingham will play a variety of acoustical instruments and perhaps sing a few songs.
