Agricola Farm: we are a small diversified farm that raises and processes pigs, chicken and lamb using Italian traditions. We do all the butchering at the farm and our pork tends to be more savory and less sweet than traditional US pork. Ask us about recipes and our best cuts for the week. We process our meat every month and bring all sorts of fun cuts. We also have a meat, eggs and pasta CSA share. check out our website at www.agricolavermont.com
For June 2 from Agricola:
Lots of fun cuts for the grill: Boston Butt roasts (pulled pork), saltimbocca (come and ask us about those), chops, ribs, tenderloins and spiedini (cabobs with sausage, cubes of ham, cubes of bacon and garlic).

We have been seeding, germinating and raising our plant seedlings for the market for months! We will have a large variety of TOMATO, VEGGIE, HERB and FLOWER plant starts, in a variety of sizes and configurations.
Our new strawberry field is looking very nice, and we hope to have fresh strawberries at the market in a week or two…
Starter Plants available this week include:
HERBS >> Cilantro, Basil, Thyme, Sage and Oregano
FLOWERS / ORNAMENTALS >> Zinnias
VEGGIES >> Cucumbers, Summer Squash, Jalapeno Peppers Sweet Bell Peppers
TOMATOES >> We have over 10 varieties of tomato starter plants for sale this week, including indeterminate, determinate, grafted and double-stemmed. including pink, golden, red tomatoes (slicers and cherry tomatoes - 2 varieties).
We will also be featuring GRAFTED Sun Sugar Cherry tomato plants. A delicious, “early” and prolific cherry that tastes similar to Sun-Golds. These plants are in bloom now, have double stems and many have set fruit already on the first cluster.
As we have in the past, we will offer advice for the care of all of our starter plants, including the amazing GRAFTED varieties. All of our plants are germinated and raised in pots filled with a “soiless medium” that is certified organic (“Fort V”) from Vermont Compost. For the last 8 years, everything we’ve grown and sold organic.

P.O.P.
The Jericho Farmer’s Market is pleased to announce that this year we will be starting the Power of Produce (P.O.P.) Club at our market! The mission of P.O.P. Club is to get kids, ages 6-12, learning about, exploring, buying, and eating all sorts of fresh fruits and vegetables available at the farmer’s market. This program is free to participate in, all your children have to do is stop by the P.O.P. Club table each week at the market to receive their passport. Then, they go around the market and answer the questions about produce which will be located at the different farmers’ tents, and finally return to the P.O.P. Club table to get their $3 worth of tokens to then spend on fresh produce at the market.
The P.O.P. Club table will be at the market every week this season (Thursdays 3-6:30, May 26 - Oct 6, 2016, at Mills Riverside Park). Many weeks there will be additional activities for the kids, such as learning what they can make with in-season produce, a craft project, or demonstration. Some programs will be on-going that day, and some will be at scheduled times. Information on the programs will be posted on the Jericho Farmer’s Market Facebook page and the Jericho Front Porch Forum.
This program will be run by Ceilidh Peden-Spear, Kelly King’s part-time assistant from last summer. Feel free to contact her with questions or comments at ceilidhps@gmail.com.
