Summer Camp at Muddy Creek Pottery in North Wolcott! Art Camp for ages 6-9 and Teen Wheel Camp for age 12 and up. There are still a few spots left in each of these camps:
Art Camp for 6-9 year olds. July 4-8, Monday- Friday, 9am to 3pm. $300.
This camp feature a good dose of clay work in the studio. Other projects this year include hula hoops, silk painting, marbling, henna body art and more! Each day starts with games and robust singing. Healthy snacks are served each morning. Campers bring their own lunches, which are enjoyed by the pond after a good swim or kayak or frog catching expedition. Parents are invited to a Friday afternoon gallery opening and concert showcasing our work. My goal for campers is for them to freely and joyfully explore themselves as artists in 2D and 3D, in a wide range of mediums. I hope they will savor experiences in color and texture, and hope that each child will surprise themselves with what they are able to create. A big part of camp is friends and fun, and there will be plenty of time to deepen in both of these areas.
Teen Pottery Wheel Camp. (ages 12+) July 18-22 and 25th(glazing day). Monday-Friday and Monday, 9am to 12:30pm. Gallery opening celebration Wednesday, July 27th, 6-7pm. $210.
This is a new camp for teens who want to try the potter's wheel in a fun and focused environment. Each morning we will gather in the studio for demonstrations and lots of practice on the wheel. We will explore bowls, mugs and handles and more. After clean up, there will be time for a swim or kayak at the pond and lunch together. We will spend the first week making pots. Monday the 25th will be spent glazing our work. Finally, we will gather on Wednesday the 26th in the evening for a gallery opening with our fired, finished creations. (note: stretching this camp over a weekend allows drying time for a week's worth of work to be fired and completed)

A deposit of half of the camp fee is required to hold a spot at camp. Email or call Heather Stearns (888-2480) with your plans so I can hold a spot while you send your deposit. This can be mailed to Muddy Creek Pottery, 999 Brook Road, Wolcott, VT 05680. Heads up: Camps fill quickly and space is limited.
