Even though much of what we call the Holy Lands was under the strict rule of the Roman Empire during Jesus' lifetime, some of those occupying soldiers were drawn to Christ's teachings. This Sunday's sermon, "The Faith that Wowed Jesus", will examine the lessons and faith of one particular Roman officer (Luke 7:1-10). Faith works when we stop playing safe, when we make uncertain steps, take risks, and when we are brutally honest about ourselves with Jesus. When we limit God to what we think he can do, we also limit his miracles in our lives.
