Bill "Spaceman" Lee at Headwaters

The Headwaters Garden and Learning Center in Cabot will host Bill "Spaceman" Lee, the Liberty Union candidate for governor on June 2, 2016 at 5:30 as a "fun" raiser for his campaign. The Spaceman is perhaps best known as the best lefthanded pitcher the Red Sox ever had - his outspoken political banter back then earned him the "Spaceman" title.

When interviewed by The Star in Washington DC about his candidacy, he quoted Socrates: “In Republic, he was interviewed by Plato and the boys before he took hemlock. And he said, ‘The greatest disservice you can do your people is to not run for governor when required.’ So that’s basically why I’m doing it. These people want me.”

He also describes himself as a “liberal with a gun,” a “pragmatic Rastafarian ex-Catholic,” a Sanders’s policy twin.

If elected, Lee said, he will dissolve the border between Vermont and Quebec, put Vermont residents on Quebec’s health-care plan, and move the Tampa Bay Rays to Montreal, where he will require them to be named the Ex-Rays.

The event will be at 40 Garden Way in Cabot. Call 802-851-7697 or write gwenhs@gmail.com for more information or directions.
