Memorial Day Observance in Monkton

Past event
May 30, 2016, 2 to 3 PM

The Monkton Museum and Historical Society will be holding a Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 30th at 2:00 p.m. at the Monkton Ridge Cemetery. The graves of soldiers buried in the cemetery will be visited and brief information about each soldier will be read. In the event of rain, the observance will be held in the Monkton Town Hall which is adjacent to the cemetery. Since there is limited parking at the Town Hall and near the Russell Library, carpooling to the observance is encouraged. Attendees should wear comfortable shoes for this walk in the cemetery. Hopefully it will be a sunny day, so don't forget the sunscreen. Everyone is welcome to join us to honor the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country in times of war as well as other deceased soldiers who proudly served our country.
