Labyrinth Sacred Sing

A Sacred Sing will be held at the labyrinth on the south lawn of United Community Church (formerly North Church) on Main Street in St. Johnsbury on Memorial Day. Led by Heidi Wilson of Plainfield, the gathering will sing “beautiful, accessible, spirit and soul-centered songs freshly caught from the universe for this time and place”. Without a lot of talking or explaining she will lead songs “to acknowledge our place in the big web of existence, and to share our light and prayers”.
Continua, the area’s Hospice choir, will “anchor” the singing, with everyone invited to join in or listen as they choose. Participants are welcome to bring lawn chairs. In the event of rain or cold weather, the sacred sing will move to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church nearby.
Heidi is a vocal artist with a passion for sharing original compositions and folk songs inspired by and in service to community and the natural world: songs that “celebrate the seasons, offer thanks and praise, muster courage, lull babies to sleep, and make room for healing”. Wilson leads the Plainfield Community Sing, teaches kid’s courses at the Summit School of Traditional Music and Culture, and is a choral director for Village Harmony and her women’s chorus, The Ollabelles.
Sponsored by the area’s Interfaith Partners, all are invited to strengthen our community relationships through song.
