Town House Initiative Public Meeting Thursday, May 26th from 4:30 – 5:30
Several months ago a group of citizens initiated an effort to make some improvements to the Marlboro Town House. The 1822 building is the site for our annual Town Meeting. It is also the venue for the Marlboro Alliance’s January Book-swap, the fall Thank-you Breakfast for town volunteers and the Alliance’s main fundraiser, the Summer Sale. It is also the site of the annual meeting of the Historical Society and several other community events, and has been used by artists as an evocative venue for their films and performances.
The initiative project includes: rebuilding of the front steps and railings to make them safer, additional electrical outlets in the building, and renewed landscaping in front.
Drawings of the front steps part of the initiative are available for viewing at the Town Clerk’s office.
Funding support for these improvements has been generously granted by the Marlboro Alliance.
On Thursday, May 26th from 4:30 – 5:30 there will be a Marlboro Select Board sponsored public site visit to look at the building and the improvements which are planned. Citizen input is valued.
