Call it Rustic, Twig, or Adirondack style, creating items from found wood can relieve the novice craftsperson from the rigors of fine woodwork. Also, the use of natural forms inherently adds eye-pleasing shapes to even the most rigid and boring of geometries.
This Skill Builder is focused on helping with the freedoms and opportunities offered by working with wood in it's raw state, as well as a primer on how to deal with all those pesky curves…
This presentation will be hands-on: you'll be making yourself a simple hardwood 5x7 picture frame (perfect for a family tree series!) out of local found materials.
Would you like to make twig projects on a larger scale, such as tables, chairs, or bookshelves? Swing in, catch the twig overview, make yourself a picture frame, and check out the Foundry's other awesome supply of twig and woodworking equipment!
