To help celebrate National Trails Day, the Northfield Conservation Commission will host a hike to the summit of Paine Mountain on Saturday, June 4th. We will meet at the Norwich medical building at 10:15 and plan to start hiking at 10:30. The hike is a little over 6 miles long(total), A moderate to difficult hike (steep at some points); will likely take four to five hours. Bring a lunch, plenty of water, and insect repellent. This will be a great opportunity to become familiar with the trails on the Northfield Municipal Forest and Norwich's Shaw Outdoor Recreation Center. Please leave your pets home.
