Trails Committee Meeting & Walk

Past event
May 21, 2016, 9 to 11 AM

The Calais Trails Committee will hold a public meeting and trail walk this Saturday morning. It will be an outdoor meeting, including a walk to the Wheelock Monument, near Kent's Corner, marking the site of the first house in Calais. The Committee and interested public will assemble at 9 AM, on the east side of Old West Church Rd., about 1/4 mile south of Kent's Corner (Craig Line property). The primary purpose of the meeting is to review and approve two new trails. One runs between Maple Corner and Robinson Cemetery; this trail was walked at the Committee's April 23rd. meeting. The second runs from the meeting location to the Wheelock monument; we will walk this trail (about 1/3 mile, each way) and evaluate the proposed route that has been laid out. For the full agenda of the meeting, contact me, the Town Office, or the Town website. We are especially grateful to the eight landowners who are making these two public trails possible.
