This is an incredible story. Actually, two stories. One is the story of this petite woman who - after the Civil War - goes in search of her husband's body so she can bring him home for a proper burial. The other story is about Kevin Thornton and his dedication to the story; one thoroughly researched. I am so looking forward to seeing this film. Thought you might, too. Sunday, May 22nd
Kevin Thornton's Premier Movie Debut...”Death In The Wilderness, A Love Story”...7:00 pm
The premier of “Death In The Wilderness: A Love Story” written, produced and directed by Brandon resident Kevin Thornton, will be shown in the Brandon Town Hall at 7:00 pm on Sunday, May 22. The camera, editing and technical responsibilities are by Josh Hummel. This is the story of Brandonite Frankie Davenport, and the search for her husband George who was fatally wounded in the Battle of The Wilderness on May 5, 1864. Five other men from Brandon were either killed or fatally wounded that day, the worst in the town's history. This is a free will donation event, donations are accepted and appreciated with all monies going towards the ongoing restoration and repair of the Town Hall.
