I am a property owner directly adjacent to the Econo Lodge on Northfield Street. For the last 7 years after they received city approval to renovate, I have watched the condition of the old restaurant deteriorate significantly. Two years ago I was one of six residents in the area that were exposed to rabies after a fox bite. For several weeks after I was bitten by the fox, I witnessed several foxes and other animals moving in and and about the abandoned Econo Lodge (Brown Derby) structure.

On Wednesday May 11th at 6:30 neighbors in district 3 will address the condemned structure with the city council. I hope that all neighbors who are concerned about this issue will attend and participate in this meeting. Your attendance will help to identify this important neighborhood safety concern.
