On August 1, Essex will host again this year the first stop on Road Pitch - if you want to "pitch" your business idea, To improve how you present yourself and your business idea, attending Art of the Pitch on May 20 at Excelerate Essex (15 Pearl Street) is a must. This event will prepare you to be one of the "business pitchers" at Road Pitch in Essex on August 1 at Green Mountain Harley in Essex. Beginning on May 20, series of workshops for entrepreneurs and business owners in the Essex area will be offered to help those starting – or thinking about starting – businesses.

The series is being offered by a newly formed collaboration between Excelerate Essex and Living Room: Center of Positive Change, co-located at 15 Pearl Street in Essex Junction and the Center for Women and Enterprise Vermont (CWE), home of the Vermont Women’s Business Center.

The series will start with a workshop to help entrepreneurs sharpen their “pitches” – the short talk that summarizes their business and how they plan to succeed. Other workshops will help build essential business skills:
May 20: Art of the Pitch / 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
June 28: Solopreneurship / 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (time tentative)
July 26: Social Media & Your Business / 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (time tentative)
August 20: Marketing and Branding / 9:00 – 11:00 AM and 1:00 – 3:00 PM (times tentative)
