“Mount Independence and the Two Controversial Decisions that Helped Win the Revolutionary War”

Sunday, May 15th, 2016 With summer hours, the talk is at 4:00 p.m.
Ethan Allen Homestead Museum Enrichment Program

Twice during the opening years of the War, the Mount was the focal point of command decisions, decisions that created consternation and even anger among America's revolutionary leaders. Mt. Independence Coalition president Stephen Zeoli will examine the consequences of those decisions while exploring Mount Independence's significant role in winning America's freedom.
Upon graduation from the University of Vermont, Stephen spent two summers as site interpreter and caretaker of Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell. For the past several years, he has been the president of the Mount Independence Coalition, the friends group that works with the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation to advocate for the Mount's protection and interpretation. He is the author of the book Mount Independence: The Enduring Legacy of a Unique Historic Place. Stephen is the Director of Marketing & Sales for Safer Society Press in Brandon. He and his wife Amy were married at the Hubbardton Battlefield in 2008 and live in the town of Hubbardton with their two cats Henry and Angus.
