paving back street behind the East Calais Store? The Selectboard may make a decision on paving Back Street Monday night after their public hearing in East Calais if no one shows up. I encourage people who live in the Village of East Calais and particularly those who live on Back Street to attend the Public Hearing on Back Street Improvements Monday, May 9th, 5:30 pm @ the Calais Rec Center. Since the hearing is not at the site, I suggest that you familiarize yourself before attending the meeting. Of particular concern may be:
• will paving increase the width of Back Street?
• will paving increased speed at which cars & trucks will comfortably drive on the smoother paved surface?
• will paving Back St increase traffic on this now narrow road
• why is paving Back St being considered?
