Button Up Day Oct. 5

Past event
Oct 5, 2013

Saturday, Oct. 5, Vermonters are asked to spend a few hours volunteering in a local Button Up Vermont event in their communities or in nearby towns.

The goal of this first statewide Day of Action is to educate Vermonters on the benefits of heating efficiency and inspire more people to make the kinds of home-improvement investments that will help them save on energy costs.

Building on the now-familiar Button Up brand, the day is being spearheaded by the Vermont Energy and Climate Action Network, or VECAN, which coordinates the network of the state’s volunteer community energy committees, which now number more than 100.

If you would like to help Middlebury, contact me or sign up at Martins Hardware on Rt 7 this Sat at the Home Energy Help Workstop. In honor of Button Up Day, Martins will give 10 % off weatherization supplies and Middlebury Energy Committee will be giving away free stuff. HEAT Squad will be on hand at Martins between 11-2 to talk with homeowners about their services including their low cost $100 energy audit.
