Please join the Essex Junction Tree Advisory Committee for our first annual Arbor Day Celebration! This event will be held from 10AM-noon on Saturday May 14th at Maple Street Park. We would also like to announce that the Village of Essex Junction has been awarded the prestigious Tree City USA status from the Arbor Day Foundation at this time. Come celebrate Essex Junction’s most recent award, and learn more about the trees in your backyard.

We will get started by planting a Maple tree by the pool. You can learn how to plant your own a tree and care for it. At 11 AM, join Village Tree Warden Warren Spinner and Matt Leonard from Vermont Forest and Parks on a tree walk through Maple Street Park. You will learn tree identification, the benefits of trees, and what you can do to make your trees thrive.

We will also be offering kids’ activities the entire morning, including the chance to plant and take home your very own Norway Spruce seedling. Make sure to come early, as we can only guarantee seedlings to the first fifty kids!

This is a free event and open to residents of any community.
