A special appearance by Richard Phillips, an American merchant mariner, author and Vermonter who served as captain of the MV Maersk Alabama during its hijacking by Somali pirates in April 2009.

Captain Philips has generously offered to make a special appearance in support of Lake Champlain Maritime Museum’s Education Programs, building positive outcomes for students in our community. Lake Champlain Maritime Museum connects more than 2,500 Elementary and Middle School Students each year to Lake Champlain’s history through valuable place-based learning, ecology experiences and hands-on programing with museum educators. The proceeds from this event help support these programs.

LOCATION The Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center, 60 Main Street, Burlington (at the corner of Lake and College Streets). Doors open at 6pm. Pre-lecture reception in the Atrium begins at 6pm with hors d’oeuvres and cash bar. Presentation at 7:30pm.

COST: Tickets are available by calling the museum (802-475-2022 ext. 101), visiting the museum website www.lcmm.org (“Events”) or at the door. General Admission Ticket $10 LCMM Member Ticket $5
