Berkshire author and artist Christa Chevalier has presented her original painting "Milking Time", depicting a farmer hand milking his cow, to Arvin A. Brown Public Library to be included in the this event which will be held on this Saturday, May 7th. She was inspired to paint the scene shortly after moving to Vermont over 20 years ago, after reading an article about the increasing use milking machines on farms. Chevalier in no stranger to hand milking. When she was a young girl in Germany, she spent time helping out on a local farm and recounts the story of tying the cow's soiled tail to its hind leg, to prevent it from hitting her in the face while she was milking. The library is thrilled and honored to have such a special donation as a part of their fundraiser.
