We’re excited to present an evening of Afghan food and discussion of girls’ education in Afghanistan on May 16th at the Montpelier Unitarian Church. It’s a chance to hear first-hand about the successes and challenges of efforts to improve education for girls in Northern Afghanistan from special guests Airokshsh Faiz Qaisary and Ellaha Sharifi and enjoy Afghan food.
These young Afghan women from Sahar Education International (www.sahareducation.org) will charm you with their stories of growing up in Mazar-i-Sharif and a refugee camp in Afghanistan. Dinner is free and will feature a menu of Afghan foods prepared by Hel’s Kitchen in Montpelier. Please join us! Moretown residents Joyce Manchester (manager of https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/the-safer-world-fund/) and David Stapleton, a Sahar board member will host the event. To RSVP or request more information, please send email to David at: dcs282000@gmail.com. Contributions for Sahar welcome.
