Gamelan Sulukala is pleased to announce a public performance at the Plainfield, VT Opera House on US Rt. 2 in Plainfield on Sunday, May 1st at 4:00 pm.
A Javanese Gamelan is a group - or orchestra - of about 30 instruments ranging from huge gongs to tiny flutes with lots of xylophone and kettle type instruments in between.

This concert will feature a wide variety of music ranging from traditional Javanese and Balinese pieces, to contemporary compositions written by Dennis Murphy, a much revered and multi-talented composer considered to be a “father of American gamelan”, and gamelan legend Barbara Benary.
If you are familiar with gamelan, don’t miss this rare concert. If you’re new to gamelan music you are in for a treat! Admission is by donation. Great for all ages.
