By Cannon Park/Ilsley Library. There are many ways to get around Middlebury and Addison County such as riding the ACTR bus, riding a bike, walking and/or ridesharing. All of these options save money by reducing the expense of owning and maintaining a car or truck - or that second family car. To learn more about these options Middlebury Safe Routes and the Middlebury Energy Committee are hosting an event Saturday, April 30th from 9 am to noon in downtown Middlebury. There will be three different transportation options to explore - a Bike Swap, an Electric Car demonstration and a Go Vermont Vanpool demonstration. A Go Vermont representative will be on hand at the event to answer questions about vanpooling. For instance, most people are not aware that the State of Vermont pays $700 per month towards every vanpool on the road. This is one of the largest subsidies in New England and can save commuters a lot of money.

Look for the white Vride Van in front of the Ilsley Library Saturday, April 30th to find out more about this accessible ridesharing option. For more information on Vanpooling in Vermont go to connectingcommuters.org/vanpool/.
