Author James "Buddy" Edgerton grew up in Arlington, Vermont, living next door to Norman Rockwell and his family. While they came from two economic ends of the spectrum- the Edgertons, poor dairy farmers and the Rockwells, successful due to Norman's talents- they shared a love of family, a commitment to integrity, and a consideration of one another that created a closeness of friendship that mirrored the physical closeness of their two houses. In his book The Unknown Rockwell, Buddy Edgerton paints a picture of the two families and the values that they held dear.
Buddy Edgerton will be sharing stories and slides of his time as a neighbor to the famed artist at the Craftsbury Public Library. All are welcome to attend his talk on Sunday, October 6 at 3:30PM. Several copies of the book The Unknown Rockwell are available to check out at the library now.
Refreshments will be provided. For more information contact the library at 586-9683.
