Winter has finally released its frozen grip as the sun climbs higher spreading its warmth. It's time to celebrate, and what better way than to join together and welcome the spring bicycle season! If you are an endurance rider, hard core commuter, racer, an occasional rider, or just into bicycles; you will want to be a part of 2nd annual Cycle de Mayo in Essex Junction.
On Saturday, May 7th, all things bicycle will be celebrated at Maple Street Park. From 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, bring the whole family and enjoy some music and food, get fitted for a helmet, or talk to the committee about safe routes. Younger riders can bring their own bike and practice riding on the skills course.
And what is a bicycle event without some riding? Come and join in a Slow Ride through the Village. Picture a large group of cyclists of all abilities riding slowly through the Village and you know that you will want to be in the group, not watching it go by! It’s not a race, in fact it’s not competitive at all. Wear your lycra, wear your cotton, or wear your wool, it's all good. Bring your family, friends and neighbors. It will be slow rolling fun.
Come join us, have fun, and help celebrate National Bike Month in a big way.
