Valley.Works coworking space will be hosting the User Friendly Workshop Series in May! Workshop topics are designed to teach you how to best leverage social media and mobile technology to make managing your online presence for personal and professional purposes easy and fun. Each workshop is $32, attend the complete 4 part series for $100. Each workshop is about 1/2 full, so sign up today!

No Subject: Email & Messaging Etiquette Wednesday May 4th 5 - 7 pm

Email is often our first point of contact with a prospective client, love interest, new hire, or professional contact. Learn how to make the best impression by avoiding the common pitfalls of online communication. Topics include introductions and signatures, content appropriateness, response times, sending attachments, when to use auto responses, and more. This workshop will be co-instructed by Samantha Sheehan and Rachel Grigorian.

Cloudy Days: The Why, How, and When of cloud based storage, Tuesday May 17th 5 - 7 pm

It is easy to get lost in the clouds when trying to navigate the world of cloud storage and cloud based applications. Learn how cloud storage works, and when and why it will work for you depending on the type of data you use. We will also address issues of privacy, security, and reliability and introduce some cloud based applications that could help improve productivity and work flow. This workshop will be taught by Steve Butcher of Vickery Hill.

WT#? A Social Media Primer, Wednesday May 18th 5 - 7:30 pm

Hashtag what?! Don't feel lost in the language of social media. Building a social media presence and growing your network is easier than ever. We will help you learn all the lingo as well take a tour of the functions of the most popular social media platforms. Special topics will also include growing followers, managing content for business pages, appropriateness, and developing a social media strategy.

No Filter, Better iPhone Photography Wednesday May 25th 5 - 8 pm

Cell phone cameras are amazing little machines. Learn how to make them work for you. This workshop will cover lighting, framing, color, content and clarity as well as how and when to use in-camera editing tools and filters. We will talk about how to make pictures that are "shareable" content for social media accounts, and do hands on exercises in class with your own phones. Smart phone required.
