Green Up Day Coming Soon!

Past event
May 7, 2016

A house wren was issuing a territorial song outside our window this morning. I imagined it thumbing its bill at the disheartening blanket of white on the ground. Surely this reluctant spring will give up its icy winds and grace us with more hospitable weather and welcome May flowers one of these days!

And in spite of the cold, the grass grows greener and taller with each day, reminding us that it is that time of year to attend to our roadsides in celebration of the annual GREEN UP DAY. So, Citizens of Panton, let’s celebrate by cleaning up our roadsides on or before May 7, GREEN UP DAY! We are hoping that everyone who is able will join in this annual community effort to maintain the extraordinary natural beauty of our great little town. The familiar bright green bags are available at the Panton Town Hall and the Town Garage. On Green Up Day filled bags can be left for pick up at roadside locations with good visibility in both directions.

There is more information on the town’s website at www.pantonvt.us/green-up-day or from Green Up Vermont at www.greenupvermont.org.
