On April 30, 2016 at 6:30 p.m., the Train Station at One Main Street will be transformed into a celebration of the active life and the survival of cancer patients. The third annual “Spring into Summer” Sportswear Fashion Show, which benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, will showcase beautiful and functional summer season sportswear and activewear from area retailers including Athleta, Skirack, Patagonia and Fleet Feet at the evening event.
Organized by South Burlington, Vt.-based certified massage therapist Kirsten Wiley to honor cancer patients she has worked with over the years at The UVM Medical Center, this event will feature local cancer survivors, athletes, and dance groups, including the University of Vermont’s Ballet Viridis, Orchesis Dance, and DSantosVT, and a special appearance by the UVM Top Cats.
“According to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, someone in the United States dies from a blood cancer approximately every 9 minutes,” says Wiley, who aims to raise $10,000 at the event, which also includes a silent auction full of great local donations, including a stay for two at the Stowe Mountain Lodge, $100 Ski Rack gift cards, and a grand prize drawing of $1,000!
Tickets are $20 per person in advance, $25 at the door. For tickets and more information, visit: http://www.springintosummervt.com/
