Future of the Valley Elementary Schools

There are a number of meetings being organized by WWSU to explain to residents about Act 46 and to encourage residents to vote for school consolidation. But some of us across the valley thought we would like to have a discussion about what happens if we vote No for consolidation. We do have the choice to vote NO and there are pros and cons of that decision.

This vote can change early elementary education in our towns for the foreseeable future and therefore our communities. It appears that most “efficiencies” to save money (if we consolidate) will have to come from the Valley elementary schools. Everyone in our town from young parents to long time community members is encouraged to attend. We admit it is confusing and there are a lot of uncertainties. We hope to talk together and hear from many voices so we can all be informed to make the best decision for our town, our Valley, our High School and of course for our children. Let's not rush into this, let's take the time to make the right choice.
