The Milton Community Band resumes rehearsals for the summer concert season. Rehearsals are Tuesday, 7-8:45 p.m. at the Milton Middle School Band Room, May 10 through June 28. Watch for the weekly notice in the Milton Independent Calendar for any location change.
Concert band musicians who play woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments are invited to join or sit in on a rehearsal. Directed by Brian Hoover, the Band performs music from the traditional band repertoire (patriotic songs, marches, pop, folk, ethnic, and show tunes and holiday pieces.) Members come from all over Northwestern Vermont and Plattsburgh, NY.
Mark your calendars: the Band performs on the lawn at town offices for May 30, Memorial Day (sponsored by the American Legion at Milton town offices), and at Bombardier Recreation Park for July 4th (sponsored by the Milton Firefighters Assoc.) and the annual End of Summer Concert on Aug. 16 (sponsored by the Town of Milton Recreation Dept.) Concerts are occasionally booked in other communities and in private group venues during the summer.
