Hello everyone! My name is Aaron and I work for the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging (SVCOA) located right in Rutland, VT. I am proud to announce that SVCOA is now beginning to offer an excellent nationally acclaimed educational series for family Caregivers called Powerful Tools for Caregivers. This 6-week evidence-based series focuses on the importance of reducing caregiver stress and taking care of one's self as a full (or part) time caregiver. The series will run once a week for 90 minutes for 6-weeks, with each week focusing on a different caregiving topic. A copy of "The Caregiver Helpbook" (covering all the ins and outs of caregiving: a $25.00 value), will be provided as a resource for those who register for and take the course. For more in-depth information on Powerful Tools for Caregivers (PTC), you can visit www.powerfultoolsforcaregivers.org. This PTC series is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 28th from 3:00 - 4:30 PM at the Heritage Family Credit Union on 50 West St., Rutland, VT 05701. Depending on how many folks register, we may have to push the start date back a week or two (6 people are required to be registered to teach the class).
