The Basics of State Government and How to Talk with Your Legislatures

This interactive workshop, both fun and informative, is presented by staff and trained volunteers with experience at the State House. Participants receive general and practical information including functions of the three branches of government; how a bill becomes a law; who represents you in your district; current issues and interests; the workings of the Legislature; how to find out what is going on in the Legislature; how to testify on a bill; how to communicate effectively with Legislators; and how to advocate for your needs and interests.
