Come out to help the Mad River Riders by improving local trails. Help for a few hours and still have time in the afternoon to make some turns when the snow softens or go for a ride. Help the community by improving trails. See official announcement below.

Techie Trail Work Day - Sunday 4/24 - 10 AM Meet Sunday morning at 10AM at Stark Mtn Bike Works and we will carpool up to the Sugar Run condos to help build a new section of the Techie trail, which connects Catamount to Maple Twist.

The work will move the Techie trailhead onto the Marble Hill Farm, which is permanently protected land thanks to the Vermont Land Trust and the new owners of the Farm, the Nagy and Von Trapp families. Last fall, we designed, got approval for and began clearing the new route.

The new section is a mix of big fun turns and rock features. The steep climb below the cliff will still be part of the trail and we have been given permission by the adjoining landowners to improve and expand the trails higher up on the ridge too.

Remember to wear good boots, preferably with a protective toe, and to bring gloves and safety glasses. We will be raking, benching and installing drainage and rock armor. Please bring rock and leaf rakes, benching tools, such as grub hoes, rock picks and pulaskis. Extra hand tools will be available.

Stark Mountain Bike Works address is 9 VT Route 17 Waitsfield, VT at the intersection of Rte 100 and Rte 17.

As soon as work is complete and we receive final landowner approvals, we will open it for riding!
