Hello South Hero! EVENT TONIGHT: April 20th, 2016
HOMESTEADING FOR CLEAN WATER: A FARM TABLE CONSERVATION SERIES

Join Friends of Northern Lake Champlain this evening from 6:30-8:30 for the second event in our Homesteading for Clean Water Series. We'll hear from Laura DiPietro of the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets, Sarah Larose from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Abha Gupta of UVM Extension on topics including watershed science, soil health, and easy homesteading practices that retain nutrients on your land- and keep them out of the water! We all have the power to protect Lake Champlain- simple changes in practices can go a long way to prevent harmful runoff!

We'll also hear about the new (draft) Required Agricultural Practices mandated by water quality legislation Act 64. Learn how the new rules apply to your homesteading or "backyard farming" operation.

This is a FREE event. Light refreshments will be served.
April 20th, 6:30-8:30 Snow Farm Vineyard & Winery (in the tasting room)
