Please join Jane from HEAT Squad and Katrina from Integrated Solar at the Brattleboro Food Coop Community Room on Thursday, April 21st at 6:30 to discuss investing wisely in the comfort, health, and long-term energy affordability of our buildings and homes, now and into retirement.
In the current “green” landscape, the home or business owner can be at somewhat of a loss as to how to move forward with energy improvements. There is so much to consider.
From the standpoint of “tightening” the building: what weatherization or thermal efficiency upgrades should I install first? If my building is new construction, isn’t it already very efficient? Doesn’t a home need to breathe? Where do I begin and how expensive will this be?
Should I invest in a heating or hot water system using cold climate heat pump technology?
Is solar power a good option for me?
How will I pay for all this?
Our presentation will explain the diagnostic tests performed at a comprehensive energy audit and how the evaluation can provide answers to these questions as well as a road map for how to proceed. You will learn about commonly used technologies and approaches as well as before and afters of projects in which HEAT Squad has participated. We will highlight available financial incentives (including the brand new Zero Energy Now program!) and financing options that will enable you to be cash positive from day one of your investment. You can choose the holistic path by reducing the energy needs of your building first and, then, investing in clean energy.
