BRISTOL HISTORICAL SOCIETY WILL HAVE ITS FINAL MEETING OF THE YEAR ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2103, AT THE AMERICAN LEGION POST #19, 16 AIRPORT DRIVE, BRISTOL.
THIS IS OUR DINNER MEETING, STARTING AT 6 PM WITH A SOCIAL HOUR, DINNER AT 6:30. TICKETS FOR THE DINNER MAY BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE BY CALLING, SYLVIA COFFIN, 453-3439, GERALD HEFFERNAN, 453-2888; REG DEARBORN, 453-3526, OR TED LYLIS, 453-3751. THE BUFFET DINNER WILL BE PUT ON BY THE SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION. AND THE TICKETS ARE $20.00, $1.00 OF WHICH WILL BE ADDED TO A 50/50 RAFFLE.
ENTERTAINMENT WILL FEATURE SPEAKER MARTIN BRYAN WHO TAKES A LOOK AT THE POPULAR MUSIC SCENE OF THE 1940'S AND HOW MUSIC EVOLVED FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE DECADE TO ITS END. HE WILL HAVE MUSIC RANGING FROM BIG BAND SWING TO WARTIME MUSIC, POPULAR BROADWAY MUSICALS TO BEBOP. HE COMES TO BRISTOL AS A VERMONT HUMANITIES COUNCIL EVENT.
